This year's Family Math, Science & Technology Day was a great success. Despite the snow, there were over 300 people at the event spending the day having fun being involved in these three important areas of learning.

There were many supporters of the event including all of the PTA's, The Oceanside Teacher Center, staff, teachers, administrators, and Board of Education members.
Many outside organizations joined us and/or contributed supplies and prizes. These include:

The Museum of Natural History
The New York Aquarium
The Cybernet Place of Long Beach
The Math Olympiads
Apple Computers
Custom Computers
Dell Computers
Parmelat
Bill McAssey
Video Services

Even Sponge Bob made an appearance!

Thank you to everyone who supported this event.

We also had a door prize for estimating the number of candy hearts in the bowl. There were exactly 1,142 hearts.

The three children with the closest guesses were
Matthew Ferraro (School 6), Bryan Kitchner (School 9E ) and Stephen Loonie. (School 8)
and they each won a problem solving book donated by the Math Olympiads.
